Diagnosing HCV: Faculty

Alan Franciscus

Alan Franciscus, a nationally recognized authority on hepatitis C virus (HCV), has appeared in various local and national publications as well as on television, radio, and in several documentaries. Mr Franciscus is founder and executive director of the Hepatitis C Support Project, and publisher and editor-in-chief of the HCV Advocate, a national HCV patient newsletter and Web site: www.hcvadvocate.org. He has served as a consultant to many city and state health departments in the United States and Canada. A member of the National Association of Science Writers, he has authored or co-authored numerous publications, brochures, fact sheets and booklets. Many of these can be found as links from this education program. Mr Franciscus is a person living with HCV and considers HCV patient advocacy and activism his highest priority.
